Boys and Girls Club of Miami Beach

At our first official fundraising event in Miami to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Miami Beach in March we raised close to $7,500 that went towards rebuilding the game room that was destroyed last year by the flash flood. Our combined efforts enabled us to provide support for over 300 underprivileged children who attend the after-school program at the Boys and Girls Club of Miami Beach.

NJ SEEDS

In June, we also helped raise $60,000 for NJ SEEDS' newly-developed College Mentor Network, which pairs high school seniors enrolled in NJ SEEDS' College Preparatory Program with mentors who will guide them through the college admissions process. Many of these students, who live in Orange and Englewood, New Jersey, are the first in their families to attend college. They will meet with their mentors one-on-one on a weekly basis to work on college applications, organization of essays and preparation for interviews.

FamilyCook Productions

In November, we raised funds for FamilyCook Productions to expand the reach of its evidence-based Teen Battle Chef program. Currently in 80 schools across the U.S., the Summer Intern Brigade will expand from NYC to partner schools in Connecticut and HealthCorps schools in New Jersey. Over 50 students will "Stir up Change" by teaching cooking, conducting healthy recipe demonstrations at farmers' markets, and growing veggies in food deserts while impacting hundreds of families in their respective communities.

Sylvia Center

Donations to the Sylvia Center will help to run a year-long program in public housing for 100 children who will receive weekly cooking classes as well as a garden-to-table experience at Katchkie vegetable farm. Professional chef instructors will share their passion for delicious, healthy dishes that feature whole fruits and vegetables. Children will come away with the skills and knowledge to make smart food choices their entire lives.
