"I am writing to express my gratitude to you for your incredible gift to the Edible Schoolyard for our video project. This gift will enable us to expand our reach exponentially in assisting school garden and kitchen programs to implement innovative food education into their schools. It is very important work that you are funding and I am so looking forward to sharing our progress with you!"

Kyle Cornforth - Program Manager at The Edible Schoolyard

"Thanks to Robin Quivers’ 15 Foundation and their generous support, FamilyCook's Teen Battle Chef Summer Internship Brigade has been in full swing since the end of June. Thirty-one Teen Battle Chefs from 13 different NYC high schools and one in CT have been interning at restaurants, farmers markets, urban farms and adult homes."

Lynn Fredricks - Executive Director of Family Cook Productions

Thanks to the generosity of Robin Quivers and Foundation15, The Sylvia Center conducted another year of food education programming at the Williamsburg Community Center. Every child attending the after-school program at the center received at least nine hours of cooking classes at some point during the year. Read what one grateful mother had to say.

"Hi, my name is Maria Pabon, I am the parent of Anelis Lora and Gabriel Lora. They both attend the Williamsburg Community Center after school program. This reason I am writing this letter to you it is to thank you for sponsoring the cooking class at the center. Gabriel and Anelis both took the cooking class and the class has been such a positive experience to both of my children as well as for the entire family. The children were so exited to take the class, every time they took the class we went to the supermarket and purchased the vegetables and the ingredients to cook the recipe at home. This has improved the overall health of the family. The children were more enthusiastic and open to eat more vegetables; they had a better understanding of the importance of eating a variety of vegetables and incorporating a healthy diet to the family. The most positive results were the increase of my children’s self esteem in the sense that they were able to prepare a meal for the family; it offered us the opportunity to have more quality family time, preparing and purchasing the ingredients. They go to the produce session of the supermarket and they are excited picking and selecting fruits and vegetables. I have lost weight, and also my husband. It also has made my self and my children more eager to learn about the overall benefits of eating more vegetables."
